The Zygmunt Rytka Archive

The Zygmunt Rytka Archive is a unique collection documenting the life and work of one of Poland’s most important avant-garde artists. The archive of his work contains over 40,000 photographs on slides and negatives, nearly 1,000 signed prints, as well as several films, objects, texts, and sketches, private albums, and a collection of posters, invitations, and prints related to the artistic life of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. The Archive also includes unprocessed digital photographs taken by the artist after 2000. Rytka, known for his experiments with photography, film, and installation, left behind a rich body of work that reflects his artistic explorations and involvement in avant-garde movements since the 1970s. This archive is not only a record of his work but also a testament to his collaboration with other prominent figures in the art world, as well as a reflection on the changing social and cultural reality. It is a place where one can explore the creative process of this outstanding photographer, his inspirations, and the evolution of his artistic language. The archive offers insight into the unconventional way of thinking of an artist who, throughout his life, pushed the boundaries of the medium and redefined the role of art in the contemporary world.

The Krzysztof Kieślowski Archive

The Krzysztof Kieślowski Archive managed by the In Situ Foundation for Contemporary Art, is dedicated to acquiring, digitizing, preserving, and disseminating archival materials related to the director. Thanks to the support of Maria Kieślowska, the archive is located in Sokołowsko, where materials from the family archive are collected. The Foundation aims to create a unique space that comprehensively studies and promotes Kieślowski’s legacy through workshops, residencies, and conferences, highlighting his influence on European cinema.

The main objectives of the Archive are the cataloging, digitization, and preservation of archival materials. The archive initiates research and artistic projects and engages in exhibition and publishing activities. It is open to collaboration with cultural institutions, museums, libraries, universities, and film schools in Poland and abroad.

The Design Archive of Barbara and Stanisław Olszamowski & Stanisław Pacanowski

This long-term Foundation program aims to preserve and carry on the 20th-century design and graphic works in Sokołowsko, created since the 1960s by Barbara and Stanisław Olszamowski and Stanisław Pacanowski. These reliefs, murals, and wall decorations tell the story of the town’s residents and spa guests. We want to capture the changing times and the life of the community in this Lower Silesian town. We invite residents and visitors to enrich the open archive with their stories, photos, and artifacts. A recording studio operates at the Zdrowie Cinema-Theater, and the materials collected so far can be viewed at the exhibition.
