Cabinet of Possibilities was conceived as an evolving exhibition — a mutable, open space subject to transformation, revealing successive aspects of Bożenna Biskupska’s artistic practice. Within the historic sanatorium interiors, which for years have served both as the artist’s workplace and as a site of activity for the In Situ Foundation, art intertwines with the process of reconstruction, the memory of the place, and the idea of constant transformation.

The second edition of the Cabinet presents sculptural works in concrete and bronze, including pieces from the iconic Demarcation of the Image 01 series, as well as the newest, previously unseen painting cycle Demarcation of the Image — This and That. The new paintings develop one of the key motifs in Biskupska’s work — the figure of the One-Legged a recurring sign present in her practice for decades. In this series, the artist returns to the primordial origin of sculptural form: the wax figure that precedes the bronze cast and is subsequently “elevated” onto the surface of the painting.

Following the opening, at 6:30 PM, the Zdrowie Cinema Theatre will host a concert by the duo Zdzisław Piernik & Sławomir Janicki as part of the exhibition’s opening program.

This will be their second joint performance on this stage — the first, several years ago, took place during a storm whose sounds subtly merged with the music itself. This time, rarely paired instruments will meet again: tuba, two double basses, and soprano saxophone. Improvisation, the memory of the place, and the living acoustics of the space will create a unique sonic situation — music that happens only here and now.
